A Pasco County teacher’s aide has been hospitalized after being attacked by a very young student.The attack happened at Schrader elementary located on Little road and State Road 54 in Pasco County.
Deputies say the 6-year old got into an argument with another student over an MP3 player, and decided to go home.
As he was walking across a playground, a teacher’s aide tried to stop him and the boy went ballistic.
“He head-butted her, he kicked her. This was all in the mouth area, so she did sustain some serious injuries to the mouth. He threw some obscenities at her. I believe he also said he was threatening to kill her,” says Doug Tobin of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say she was so badly hurt, she was rushed to the hospital.
Yvonne Lyons of the Classroom Teacher’s Association says, “I think always in the very back of a teacher’s mind is: Am I going to be accused of something if I grab this kid or push this kid, could I have child abuse charges hanging over my head.”.
Deputies say they have no plans right now to charge this boy with any kind of a crime.
They say right now what he needs is counseling.

Donald Thompson had spent almost 23 years on the bench and had served as a state legislator before retiring from the court in 2004. He showed no reaction when he was sentenced.
At his trial this summer, his former court reporter, Lisa Foster, testified that she saw Thompson expose himself at least 15 times during trial between 2001 and 2003. Prosecutors said he also used a device known as a penis pump during at least four trials in the same period.
Thompson, 59, was convicted last month of four felony courts of indecent exposure for incidents that took place in his Creek County courtroom.
Thompson, a married father of three grown children, testified that the penis pump was given to him as a joke by a longtime hunting and fishing buddy.
“It wasn’t something I was hiding,” he said.
He said he may have absentmindedly squeezed the pump’s handle during court cases but never used it to masturbate.
Foster told authorities that she saw Thompson use the device almost daily during the August 2003 murder trial of a man accused of shaking a toddler to death. A whooshing sound could be heard on Foster’s audiotape of the trial. When jurors asked the judge about the sound, Thompson said he hadn’t heard it but would listen for it.

A 61-year-old man faces 608 counts of possessing child pornography after the state attorney’s office filed additional charges against him Thursday.
John Hoagland, of 17912 Singing Wood Place, Lutz, has been in jail since June on 27 counts of possession of child pornography. The state attorney’s office filed 581 more charges Thursday after detectives reviewed Hoagland’s computers, the Hillsborough sheriff’s office said.

McMaster says the insects had built a nest in the 9-year-old yellow Labrador retriever found June 26 by a letter carrier in the 300 block of West Perry Street.
Officers who responded to the report found a dog so emaciated that its rib cage was in plain view, the chief says.

The township animal control officer took the dog to the West Shore shelter of the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area. The next day, Merrick died while en route to a veterinarian appointment at the society’s East Shore shelter.

Emma Kelly, 31, gave her son heroin at the school gates, Hove crown court heard, and Judge Anthony Niblett told her she had betrayed her son.
He said: “There can be no greater betrayal of a mother’s trust and duty towards her child.” Kelly realised that her son had been helping himself to her own drugs, yet did nothing to wean him off them, he added.
“You told a child psychiatrist that you realised you had a choice of informing social services of your son’s increasing opiate dependency… You allowed the situation to continue.”
“You did nothing to help him and everything to harm him,” he said. The boy, referred to simply as X throughout the trial for legal reasons, spent a week in hospital withdrawing from his opiate addiction after he and his mother had been picked up by police for shoplifting in January last year.
Kelly was sentenced to nine years in total for supplying her son with Class A drugs, including five years to be served concurrently for child cruelty.
This includes two six-year sentences, to be served concurrently, for supplying him with heroin and crack cocaine, and a consecutive sentence of three-years for giving him heroin when he was in foster care. She showed no emotion during sentencing.
