The aggressive bear that was killed a week ago by an Amish Road homeowner after the animal charged and then attempted to pull out a window air conditioner has tested positive for rabies, a Garrett County health official said Tuesday.

“We sent the head to our health and mental hygiene lab in Baltimore on Thursday and got the results Friday,” said Steve Sherrard, director of environmental health for the county’s health department.

At 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, the homeowners had heard a commotion outside and saw a bear attempting to get at two penned pygmy goats. When the family hollered from its main doorway at the bear, it wheeled and charged the house.

“At first it was pushing on the door and I was holding onto the handle from inside,” said Charlotte Stanton. “Mike was going to the gun room to get a gun,” she said of her husband.

At that point, Charlotte said the bear left the door and attempted to pull an air-conditioning unit out of a window.

“I was pulling from inside and the bear was pulling on it from outside when Mike got there with the gun,” Charlotte added. “There was just enough room to stick out the gun barrel beside the air conditioner, but you couldn’t aim it. He just stuck it out there and shot and it flattened the bear.”

The No. 4 shotgun pellets struck the bear in the head and neck, authorities reported. The bear was eventually put down by a Natural Resources Police officer who arrived at the home 2.7 miles south of U.S. Route 40 about 30 minutes after the 911 call was transferred to state police.

Seeing how this is local news to me, I decided to post this information. A fight is a fight, you beat a man down or get your ass beat and that is the end of it. What kind of sick fucks can go after a guy with a bat or cue ball in sock after he is down and unconcious?

No matter what someone says to upset you, how can you participate in jumping a kid? And if it was warranted even with that said, a few punches, the kid falls down and the fight is over. End of story. You have to be a total scum bag with a saggy pant rap music/thug/ghetto mentality to implement gang style beatings and these kids deserve to fry in prison for a little while.

Whats worse is they are from Westmoreland, and I honestly thought we were a little smarter than that. Then again I see one boy was from Utica (for those who don’t know its a perdomently ghetto scum hole filled with trash) and I would bet the people who iniated this were infact from there.

Anyway not that its news but it seemed to be left out of the news article below; I was told a lot more than 3 people were involved in this gang attack and a few have fled N.Y. state. Lets pray these fuckers fry and my condolences to this guys family and kid(s). He had a steady job, daughter, unborn and I am sure he was a good person.

A 20-year old Rome man who died Thursday as a result of injuries he suffered in a fight leaves behind a daughter and an unborn child, according to his obituary.

Three people face man-slaughter char-ges in connection with his death, Oneida County sheriff’s deputies said Friday.

The victim, Carl R. Hill of 119 E. Thomas St. was struck several times in the head with an unidentified object during a large fight at a party Sunday at 108 Pazdur Blvd. in Westmoreland, deputies said. The home is located in a trailer park off of Route 233, officials said.

Hill died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center as a result of a brain injury due to blunt force trauma to the head, officials said.

Deputies said the following people were charged with first-degree manslaughter:
ä Cory Adam, 17, of Kellogg Street, Utica.
ä Bradley Stanistreet, 17, of Stop Seven Road, Westmoreland.
ä Kevin Stolarczyk, 22, of Deans Highway, Westmoreland.

All three pleaded not guilty in New York Mills Village Court Friday afternoon. They were sent to Oneida County jail on $100,000 bail and are scheduled to reappear in court Monday, Aug. 27, officials said.

When deputies arrived at the party around 3:55 a.m., Hill was lying on the ground, going in and out of consciousness, deputies said.

Justin Doolen, a firefighter from the Stanwix Heights Fire Department, said when he responded to the scene of the fight, people told him someone had been struck in the head with a billiard ball that was stuffed inside a sock.

Update:I really do not know how true any of this may be but I was recently told Hill, on the ground, during his first stages of convolutions, was then kicked square in the head. With that said the guy was completely at the mercy of even an 8 year old girl. Even if this guy was drunk and running his mouth, even if he initiated the fight, in no way does he or anyone else deserve that being death. That may have been what finally killed him, or finished him sooner.

Proof once again that teen boys will literally hit anything at anytime. Looks like the daughter from Roseanne. Do not want.

A former youth counselor was charged with sexual abuse of a juvenile after Antioch police discovered a runaway boy at her home.Antioch Police officers investigated reports that a 16-year-old male juvenile runaway may be hiding at 293 JoAnna Court, Apt. # 101. When police arrived at the apartment, Lori B. Zolno, 32, initially denied the boy was there.

Police then obtained consent to search Zolno’s apartment and found the juvenile hiding in a closet. The juvenile was confirmed a runaway and ward of the state. He was taken into police custody and later turned over to the Department of Children and Family Services.

Through further investigation, Antioch Police officers learned Zolno had been recently terminated from her job at The Gateway Foundation in Lake Villa, IL where she had been the juvenile’s counselor.

The Gateway Foundation offers substance abuse treatment and cognitive self-change services for adults and adolescents.

Zolno admitted to having a sexual relationship with the juvenile during his stay at her apartment over the past several weeks.

Boys will be boys, unless given proper parental guidance. No one any longer understands that children must be raised, not just provided for.

The boys aged 12 to 14 are accused of grabbing the boy from the school last Wednesday and dragging him into nearby bush.

It is alleged they hung the 13-year-old up by his underpants and assaulted him.

Police say the boys then dug a grave, pushed the teenager into it and shoveled dirt on top of him.

The boy claims he was eventually let out of the grave but some of the boys pushed him to the ground and made him crawl back to school like a dog.

Cops in Georgia are speculating that Benoit, 40, ended Daniel’s life with a version of the Crippler Crossface hold the morning after strangling his wife Nancy, 43, to death. Later that day Benoit committed suicide.

The Crippler Crossface was a move Benoit used in almost all his wrestling matches, including when he beat Triple H for the heavyweight title at WrestleMania XX.

Police were originally confused by bruising on the young lad that wouldn’t have been there had he been strangled.

Then an officer watched a wrestling tape, quickly realising that the marks on Daniel’s body matched the application of a version the Crossface.

The version Chris used in WWE rings involved him placing an arm of a floored opponent between his legs before locking his hands around their face and pulling back to stretch their neck.

Texas official: ‘Amateurs’ tainted the charges; alleged criminals walk free

MURPHY, Texas - A sting in which police teamed up with “Dateline NBC” to catch online pedophiles was supposed to send a flinty-eyed, Texas-style warning about this Dallas suburb: Don’t mess with Murphy.

Instead, it has turned into a fiasco.

One of the 25 men caught in the sting — a prosecutor from a neighboring county — committed suicide when police came to arrest him.

The Murphy city manager who approved the operation lost his job in the ensuing furor.

And the district attorney is refusing to prosecute any of the men, saying many of the cases were tainted by the involvement of amateurs.

“Certainly these people should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but the fact that this was all done for television cameras raises some questions,” said Mayor Bret Baldwin.

It is the first time in nine “Dateline NBC: To Catch a Predator” stings across the country in the past year and a half that prosecutors did not pursue charges.

“Dateline” has made prime-time entertainment out of contacting would-be child molesters over the Internet, luring them to a meeting place, and videotaping their humiliating confrontations with reporter Chris Hansen.

“Dateline” works with an activist group called Perverted Justice, which supplies adults who troll Internet chat rooms, posing as underage boys and girls, and try to collect incriminating sex talk.

City manager Craig Sherwood approved such an operation in this well-to-do community of 11,000 after being approached by “Dateline” and Perverted Justice, but he never informed the mayor or the City Council.

WTF a 12 year old boy weighing 28 pounds. This rag needs to be starved for a few months straight, and then locked in a room with no water. Maybe head-in-vice?

The night before Tyler DeLeon turned 7, he was so thirsty he ripped a hole in the screen of his bedroom window to eat snow.

By the next evening, Tyler was dead. He weighed just 28 pounds, the size of an average 2-year-old.

Dehydration is the official cause of death, but authorities think Tyler suffered a variety of abuses at the hands of his adoptive mother, Carole DeLeon, a woman who led a seemingly ordinary life as a paralegal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Spokane.

Records released this week by the state Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) say that between 1988 and 2005, DeLeon had deprived at least four other adoptive or foster children of food and that she was accused of punishing her biological children by withholding food, as well. Yet DSHS didn’t recognize the pattern until after Tyler died in January 2005.

WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and son were found dead Monday, and police said they were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

WAGA-TV reported investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and 7-year-old son, Daniel, over the weekend, then himself on Monday. The bodies were found in three rooms.

More than 26 million people worldwide have Alzheimer’s disease, and a new forecast says the number will quadruple by 2050. At that rate, one in 85 people will have the brain-destroying disease in 40 years, U.S. researchers conclude.The new estimates, presented Sunday at an Alzheimer’s Association conference in Washington, are not very different from previous projections of the looming global dementia epidemic with the graying of the world’s population.

But they serve as a sobering reminder of the toll to come if scientists cannot find better ways to battle Alzheimer’s and protect aging brains.

“If we can make even modest advances in preventing Alzheimer’s disease, or delay its progression, we could have a huge global public health impact,” said study team leader Ron Brookmeyer of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore.

The biggest jump is projected for densely populated Asia, home of almost half of today’s Alzheimer’s cases, 12.6 million. By 2050, Asia will have 62.8 million of the world’s 106 million Alzheimer’s patients, the study projects.
